How We Started

In the Fall of 2019 our founders were in search of a women's social organization made up of those who could share mutual experiences of studying engineering. They quickly realized there was no student organization that highlighted the importance of academic excellence, career development, and building the foundation of lifelong social connections.

In August 2020 the Club of Aggie Females in Engineering or CAFE was formally recognized as a student organization at Texas A&M University. Each year the organization has prided itself on prioritizing its member's needs and adapting to the challenging course load an engineering student must maintain. CAFE is first and foremost a community for women studying engineering to feel safe and understood. Women of different backgrounds, interests, and beliefs are encouraged to accomplish any and all goals during their time at university and beyond. CAFE prioritizes creating a welcoming environment where women can rely on each other for support throughout their college careers and in all other aspects of life.

Why C.A.F.E.?

I chose C.A.F.E. because I wanted a community of girls to uplift each other. Engineering can be scary whether it is because of the hard classes or because it's a male dominated field. C.A.F.E. gave me a place to talk to women going through the same things that I was going through. I love C.A.F.E. and everyone in it!!

C.A.F.E. has given me a safe space on campus to seek suport from women going through similar experiences as me. Engineering and campus life in general can be confusing and sometimes overwhelming but the advice and open arms of C.A.F.E. has guided me and allowed me to fully embrace my college years. C.A.F.E. also gives me both social and educational opportunities throughout the year that I would not have otherwise. Overall this group of young women has given me more than I could have ever asked for and I hope more Aggies can find their way to us!
